Standing in the Gap

Dear Heavenly Father,

I praise you for so much more than I can put into words right now. I thank you for being the God that hears and the God who sees! Thank you, Father, for leading me to this prayer after I have avoided today. Thank you for drawing me back in and thank you for leading me to a purpose, your purpose. Please forgive me for my failings today as I know they are many!

I am coming to you now for two people who I know need someone to stand in the gap for them because I believe they feel unseen and unheard and I believe they feel that they cannot come to you because of a veil of pain and lies told to them that they are not worthy of healing and love. Father, I believe that they have built up a barrier that is keeping them from that healing and love, from others and more especially from you. I have already spoken their names to you privately, but I felt pulled to use my public petition as well so that they might receive prayer from not just me standing in the gap but that the gap might be completely filled!

Please tear down the veils or walls that are clouding their vision of what laying their burdens at your feet would bring to them, the peace that they long for. Please open their hearts to receive! Please open their ears to hear. Bless them with your love and remove the lies that they are not worthy of receiving it. Give them comfort and peace and heal the holes in their hearts from pain and grief.

Please protect them and draw them in to your presence and help them to see the love that is right there in front of them and help them to accept it, knowing it’s a gift just especially for them.

Finally Father, I thank you again as I believe you have led me to do this with empathy drawn from my own pain and suffering and that I would be able to not just understand them but that I would SEE their pain and know that I would need to do this just now.

Perfect, Sovereign, and Loving Father, your will be done! Amen
