Gratitude

Dear Father,

I come to you this morning in humility and just to thank you for every little thing you provide to me in this life. I woke up. I woke up in a warm bed. I had water to drink and coffee. I have food and shelter. I have a means to get to a job that provides for my needs financially. I have health. I have people who support and love me. Thank you, Father, for all the ways you provide for me that I often overlook and probably often don’t even deserve.

Thank you for the trials that you didn’t not leave me alone in but allowed me to experience so that I would come to you and so that I would be refined into the person you have called on me to me.

And now, I ask for your forgiveness for being in despair when I have all of these things. Because if you have provided for all those needs, then you will provide for the one that I have been in despair over and have not laid down and let you provide for me. I have been trying to understand things that are not for me to understand. This morning I was reminded that we often make idols of our pain, loneliness and longing and hold on to those things instead of allowing you to take them and provide for us in that way. I am reminded that is our gift to you, to trust and allow you to do that. I am reminded that true blessing comes from blessing others.

So, Father, Holy Spirit, lead me to just what you have for me today. Lead me to where I can be a blessing to others. Help me to overflow with your peace and light and allow you to take my sorrows and my needs while I do as you called me to do, to encourage others and love others and show them who I really am in you. And help me to not worry about tomorrow or when the answer to my prayers will come, because your timing is perfect, your ways are perfect and for all good, and your thoughts are greater than mine.

I love you and I thank you for all that you are and all that you do! In the name of Jesus Christ, my strength, I pray Amen! 🙏 ♥️
