Dear Father God,

Thank you for creating me, for creating us, in your image. I think sometimes I say those words but fail to fully comprehend the meaning. That you created man in your own image is a reflection of your love. We, I, may struggle for the rest of my days to fully understand just how big your love is and that you would want to be with me even in the mundane parts of my life. There you are though, and I am grateful for the terrible time I went through that caused my eyes to open to your presence. I pray that I will never forget or fail to be in awe at how you were there working to uncloud my vision, patiently and in your way and your time. It does fill my heart with love. Father, forgive me for all the years I took things under my own power and failed to see that I could have rested in you, because all that time, you were already at work and all I had to do was believe and trust in the way you take care of us.

Father, please continue to repair my heart and mind, not just to understand your purpose, your love, your ways, but also to love like you, like your son. Help me to soften my heart towards others and give the same grace and mercy that you have given me in times when I most certainly didn’t act in a deserving way. You are the model, Jesus is the model, of how we should be, forgiving without expectation of performance.

Father, how you fill my heart with peace at times when it doesn’t make any sense for me to have peace is proof of your word to us. I am still learning how to surrender. I am still learning how to walk. I am still learning that you will not leave me when I fall down. I am still learning that you see ME when I feel invisible to the world.

I want to start writing these prayers again. I ask you, Holy Spirit, to guide my words and my thoughts and help me to come to my Father as I should, in reverence, thanksgiving, and repentance with a heart that thirsts for more of Him.

Thank you, Father, for this day, every day that I get to see your beautiful creation, a symbol of your love and provision.
